Time to get your speaking voice on
Want more engagement? You need to talk! 🎙️
Videos are taking over all of our social media platforms, and the best way to get people to actually engage with your content and break through the noise?
You need to chat to the camera!
I know. It sounds daunting if you’re not comfortable in front of the camera. Heck, I was the face of my old company’s TikTok account, and it was terrifying appearing on screen daily! But guess what?
The times that I did an off-the-cuff, straight-to-camera video? They consistently had the highest engagement.
The social media company Emplifi experimented with what actually makes people stop scrolling online, and the top thing?
Human faces and voices.
The retention rate actually increased by almost 25%. 25% !!
And retention rates are even higher when someone appears on screen in the first 3 seconds of the video.
Other things that can help with engagement:
Text overlays
Seamless looping
Vertical videos (not horizontal, which makes sense as vertical video is the format for Reels!)
If you’re looking to grow and increase engagement on your social media pages this year, you might need to start getting ready for your close-up!

Reels longer than 3 minutes don’t get pushed out on Meta, but with all videos defaulting to Reels on the platform, how do you make sure people see it? Meta has added an option to create shorter Reels that link to your larger one.
Not sure if you want this, but you can now add an AI transition in between your Instagram Stories to make it more … seamless? Or at least, that’s what they say.
Edits has added a whole new suite of features to make video creation even easier, including new cinematic effects, precision trimming, sound effects, emphasizing keywords in captions, and more.

It’s all about that money, money, money
Facebook is offering $3000/month to post on the platform 💸
While it might sound too good to be true, it’s true!
Facebook is launching a new program called “Creator Fast Track,” where creators will get paid for posting on Facebook.
It seems like Meta is working really hard on getting Facebook to be cool again (lol), and the new monetization program is the newest incentive.
The program is supposed to compete with TikTok and YouTube’s creator monetization programs, and Facebook announced that it has paid creators nearly $3 billion in 2025 alone.
That’s a lotta money!
The Creator Fast Track will pay creators $1,000 per month if they have 100,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, or $3,000 per month if they have over one million followers. Yes, other platforms. Not Facebook. It’s a way to help creators grow on a brand-new platform that they haven’t used previously.
The fast track will then help boost the Reels that you post on Facebook and also guarantee pay for any videos you post on the social platform.
The money bonus is only for the first three months of posting; however, Facebook has promised to keep boosting your reach until you have found your exact audience.
